Frontier Partcipates in 2010 Portland Memory Walk

Along with our six local Portland senior retirement communities, Frontier Management raised nearly $6k in donations and had a total of 125 registered walkers on Sunday, September 26, 2010 -- a great turn out for Portland’s Memory Walk for the Alzheimer’s Association Oregon Chapter! The Memory Walk is the national signature event for the Alzheimer's Association. It brings together family, friends, caregivers and concerned community members.

Several of Frontier’s local communities hosted hot dog parties and sold “Casual for a Cause” stickers to employees in exchange for a casual dress day.  A casino night and silent auction were also ways Frontier’s communities collected donations, as well as returning cans and bottles to selling Forget-Me-Not Flowers to create a visual display to promote awareness.

At the walk, Frontier Management held a raffle for a $250 gift certificate to the Allison Inn & Spa, in which a lucky Oregon City resident was the proud recipient of.  We brought several free handouts, including hundreds of purple bandannas to show our spirit, in which the walkers much obliged, as well as some pups!  The bandannas actually ended up providing a bit of coverage from the occasional drops of rain, but no one seems to mind the rain when we’re moving for the cure.

Stay tuned for more news and photos on other Memory Walks that Frontier Management is walking for this year:  Edwardsville, IL, Tucson, AZ, and Austin, TX.
