The Memory Walk is the national signature event for the Alzheimer's Association. It brings together family, friends, caregivers and concerned community members - who all want to make a difference. Since 1989, National Memory Walk has raised more than $200 million to help those battling Alzheimer's disease. Frontier Management is proud to be a advocate and member of the Alzheimer's Association. Frontier Management sponsored a table for the 19th Annual "Home is Where the Heart is" CASA Auction & Dinner on January 23, 2010. Greg Roderick, President/CEO, and Matthew Dunham, COO, both attended the event to support this incredible Portland community service organization. CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates. Their Mission to be court appointed advocates for the best interests of children who have been abused or neglected and are under the protection of the Juvenile Courts in Oregon's Multnomah and Washington Counties. Their purpose is to secure a safe and permanent family for each child as quickly as possible. They dedicate their resources to recruiting, training and supporting citizen volunteers in order to provide quality advocacy to as many children as they can. |

Greg Roderick, Frontier's CEO, has accepted the position of Head Coach for a 6th Grade Boys team with the Lake Oswego Youth Basketball Association. "I just really enjoy giving my time and energy to the kids in our neighborhood and look forward to another great season," said Roderick. Greg has voluteered as Head or Assistant Coach for five years being involved in his children's lives and an involved member within his community. |

Frontier Management, LLC is pleased to announce that its Helping Hands 2009 Campaign was a huge success. “We wanted to do more this year,” stated Company CEO, Greg Roderick. “This economic period has placed an increased hardship upon our own employees whom we consider friends and the very people with whom we have deep compassion for. We asked our Administrators and Executive Directors to provide us with local stories of our employees whom are in a situation where a Helping Hand would be greatly needed.

When one reads through the nominations and each story it is easy to understand why this program was launched. These are the people whom give us their time and our residents their attention and dedication.” Frontier Management asked its clients, vendors, partners, friends and the internal team members to contribute cash, gift cards and gifts toward the nominated employees from its senior living and health care properties and businesses.
“I am touched by the contributions by nearly 25 people and companies whom donated $4,209 in cash, $1,172 in gift cards and nearly 50 gifts valued at approximately $750 for a total of $6,131.” Roderick continued. Frontier will send 21 families a care package to provide them with a Helping Hand this holiday season. “Our goal is to send a heartfelt message to these wonderful people and to let them know that we truly care about them. We also wish each of our friends and staff members a safe and wonderful season and a tremendous New Year.” Roderick concluded. |

Frontier Management, LLC was a sponsor of the 2009 Hearts & Hands Auction on October 2, 2009 benefiting the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Oregon and Southwest Washington and its 25th Anniversary and hosted a table to celebrate this event.
"Our dear friends and colleagues are involved in this tremendous organization to lend help to families in need during a challenging medical treatment period. When my friend Phil Fogg, Jr. and his wife Angie (Marquis Companies) asked if we would consider sponsoring a table and attend this event, we immediately joined in," stated Greg Roderick, CEO of Frontier Management. The table guests were company COO, Matthew Dunham and his guest Paula, Jim and Chris Ekberg, Greg Roderick, and Chris and Chris Dudley.
"I was so happy that our table participants were generous in giving $6,000 to this organization which will directly impact and help many families during their period of challenge," stated Matthew Dunham. This organization provides a "home away from home" for families and their seriously ill children who travel far to receive treatment at Portland hospitals, and awards grants to non-profit organizations that offer children's immunizations and dental care. |

Fountain View Manor of Granite City, Illinois was a participant in the September 20, 2009 Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk for the second year in a row. Led by Karen Taylor, Administrator of Fountain View Manor, "this year we had an informational booth along with a wonderful team made up from both staff members and the family members of our residents." The team was able to raise $3,500 to benefit the Alzheimer's Association, which will be used for education, treatment, and the research and development toward identifying a cure. "It was a great feeling to have so many family members and staff join me on the Memory Walk," Karen Taylor concluded. |

The Frontier Management booth displayed each of the Portland Metro Area memory care communities and many of our Administrators and home office members were present to greet, visit and discuss Alzheimer’s disease and other related forms of dementia.
“My children and I were so happy to be involved, demonstrate our genuine interest in those suffering from this disease and to have our friends [Chris Dudley and his family] join us in the walk,” stated Greg Roderick, Frontier’s CEO. “I have been walking in this event for many years, but I feel that this was the largest turn-out ever – likely due to the increased awareness and how this touches so many lives,” added Matthew Dunham, Chief Operating Officer of Frontier Management. |

On Thursday August 20th, Royal Oak Retirement Community hosted the Medford, Oregon Chamber Greeters Networking group. Approximately 110 business representatives enjoyed a buffet breakfast. Following the lovely breakfast the Chamber Ambassadors joined in a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony commemorating Royal Oak Retirement's 25 years of serving seniors in the Medford area. Jon Peters, owner of Royal Oak Retirement cut the ribbon alongside Barry and Colleen Potter, Managers, Kim Marsango, Office Manager, Jim Buchta, Regional Vice President of Frontier Management, LLC and Chamber Ambassadors. |

Over 150 friends, residents, families and professionals joined us to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of HomePlace Special Care Center of Oak Harbor on August 6th, 2009. Everyone enjoyed the beautiful weather, delicious food, wine and great saxophone music. HomePlace staff welcomed our guests, and enjoyed visiting with long time friends and families. Also attending were Frontier Management’s Greg Roderick, President and CEO, Matt Dunham, COO, and Ron Baker, Regional Vice President. Local dignitaries attending were State Representative Barbara Bailey and City Councilman Jim Campbell.

When NASA astronaut Megan McArthur launched into space on May 11, about a dozen friends and family members from Wenatchee and Chelan were on hand at Cape Canaveral in Florida to see her off. But Wanda McArthur, Megan's grandmother, watched the liftoff from her residence at Hearthstone Cottage Retirement Apartments & Assisted Living in East Wenatchee. McArthur is making her first voyage into space. She is part of the STS-125 mission to repair the Hubble Space Telescope. She is the only woman on the seven-member team and will be running the spacecraft's robotic arm. |

In support of the Alzheimer Society of Washington, the staff at Home Place Burlington and Where the Heart is joined staff from Home Place Oak Harbor and participated in the Miles for Memories Walk/Run in Bellingham April 25th 2009. The event raised $30,000 for the Alzheimer’s Society of Washington and was attended by 500 people and 60 dogs. |

Royal Oak Retirement Community of Medford, Oregon helped celebrate spring with Medford’s 56th Annual Pear Blossom Festival on April 11. Always the Saturday before Easter, hundreds of people lined the two mile stretch of downtown Medford streets to view the many entries of the Parade, including the Royal Oak entry. The theme of the festival was “Hometown Heroes”. Royal Oak chose to honor their Veterans and all military branch’s, nurses, firemen and police officers. Royal Oak’s King & Queen, Ralph and Ima DeBenning rode in the parade in the classic car driven by Sandee Opitz, Activity Director. |

Greg Roderick, CEO, Matthew Dunham, COO and Brad Rowe, RVP attended the 12th Annual Chef’s Dinner and Wine Extraordinaire to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. "What an amazing opportunity to experience the great chefs surrounding Portland while helping raise awareness and donations for this worthy charity.” Dunham stated. The event gathered over 250 individuals at the new Nines Hotel in downtown Portland and dazzled its guests with creative dishes. “I am always moved by the generosity of our friends and community. This charity is very important to us and we hope every dollar raised takes the Fountain one step closer to finding a cure,” Roderick added. Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-threatening genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system. More than 10 million Americans are symptomless carriers of the defective CF gene. |
