Sherwood Oaks Memory Care will be the newest of our caring and beautiful communities in the greater Portland area when it opens.

Sherwood Oaks will be a single-story, four neighborhood residential care facility with a Memory Care Endorsement. Additionally, our community will have 24-shared apartments for 48-residents. This community has been specifically developed and designed for senior citizens affected by Alzheimer’s disease or other related forms of dementia.

The building design allows residents to continuously stroll throughout in a circular flow with activity spaces along the way. Each neighborhood will feature Grandma’s kitchen (an activity and sensory space), a living room featuring couches, entertainment center, television and stereo, and a dining area. Additionally, there will be two interior courtyards and two exterior courtyards completely enclosed as to avoid elopement.

The interior decor will feature the Wine Country, Ocean Beaches, Mt. Hood and The Valley. Familiar surroundings will stimulate warm and inviting memories and promote local support of the community. The resident units will feature a full bathroom, heating and cooling systems, emergency call system and Biography Boards to remind residents where they reside, staff and visitors whom they are and what the resident accomplished throughout their life.
