| Friday’s cold turned a groundbreaking ceremony for Granite City’s first memory care community into an indoor event. The ground breaking was held inside the main lobby of The Fountains, an independent senior living facility off Maryville Road, next to Fountain View Manor. | |
| Fountain View Manor is a new and exciting senior community which will provide a warm, inviting and familiar environment for residents with forms of dementia including Alzheimer's disease.
The Fountain Group has developed six assisted living centers through the metro-east in the past eight years. GRB Construction of Swansea, IL is the General Contractor. Frontier Management, LLC of Portland, Oregon, will be the on-site management company. Having Fountain View Manor next to The Fountains will help with its growth and with assisted care at both facilities,” said Greg Roderick, president and CEO of Frontier Management. It will cost about $2.5 million, sit on 7.5 acres and consist of 48 single-story apartments. GRB Construction of Swansea will be the general contractor. Construction will start this week, with a completion date tentatively set for September 1. Fountain View Manor is located at 3432 Village Lane in Granite City, IL.
